Senior Driving

Your Family :: Communicate Openly and Respectfully

Most people would not want to be called a dangerous driver. Many seniors even think of themselves as safe, especially when compared to younger drivers. When approached about their driving, it is possible that the senior may respond to accusations with anger and denial.

Show them that you know how important driving is in their lives. Explain to them that you want them to stay safe and driving as long as possible. You may want to talk about strategies to correct their driving weaknesses and set their mind at ease.

Above all, be positive and supportive of the senior driver.
