Motorcycle Sample Written Test
Instructions:
This sample test consists of 10 questions. The actual motorcycle knowledge test consists of 25 questions of which 20 must be answered correctly to pass the test. All of the answers are found in the Delaware Motorcycle Operator Manual. Read each question completely and select the one best answer. The answers to these test questions are listed at the end of this section.
- It is MOST important to flash your brake light when:
- Some one is following too close.
- You will be slowing suddenly.
- There is a stop sign ahead.
- Your signals are not working.
- The FRONT brake supplies how much of the potential stopping power?
- About one-quarter.
- About one-half.
- About three-quarters.
- All of the stopping power.
- To swerve correctly:
- Shift your weight quickly.
- Turn the handlebars quickly.
- Press the handgrip in the direction of the turn.
- Press the handgrip in the opposite direction of the turn.
- If a tire goes flat while riding, and you must stop, it is usually best to:
- Relax on the hand grips.
- Shift your weight toward the good tire.
- Brake on the good tire and steer to the side of the road.
- Use both brakes and stop quickly.
- Reflective clothing should:
- Be worn at night.
- Be worn during the day.
- Not be worn.
- Be worn day and night.
- When riding in a group, inexperienced riders should position themselves:
- Just behind the leader.
- In front of the group.
- At the tail end of the group.
- Beside the leader.
- If you wait an hour for each drink before riding:
- You cannot be arrested for drinking and riding.
- Your riding skills will not be affected.
- Side effects from the drinking may still remain.
- You will be okay as long as you ride slowly.
- To reduce your reaction time, you should:
- Ride slower than the speed limit.
- Cover the clutch and the brakes.
- Shift into neutral when slowing.
- Pull in the clutch when turning.
- A plastic shatter-resistant face shield:
- Is not necessary if you have a windshield.
- Only protects your eyes.
- Helps protect your whole face.
- Does not protect your face as well as goggles.
- Making eye contact
- Is a good sign they see you.
- Is not worth the effort it takes.
- Doesn't mean that the driver will yield.
- Guarantees that the other driver will yield to you.
