All first-time Trust requests will be processed by appointment only to allow for a thorough document review prior to your visit. 

Please make sure you have the following information to schedule your appointment:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Mailing Address
  • Phone number
  • Name(s) on Trust
  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) for all vehicles
  • Make, Model & Year of all vehicles
  • State in which vehicle(s) is currently titled
  • Original Trust and/or amendments

To transfer or title a vehicle for the first time in the name of a Trust, is a fiduciary arrangement which allows a third party or trustee to hold assets on behalf of a beneficiary or beneficiaries. Vehicles will be titled in the name of a Trust based on 12 Del. C. §§3501 – 3595.

Please ensure you have the following documents in preparation of your appointment. A DMV representative will be contacting you via email to request the various documents for pre-approval.

New Vehicle

Original Manufacturers Statement/Certificate of Origin (MSO/CO), 212A Form (provided from the dealership or from the inspection lane), bill of sale from the dealership, Delaware driver license or identification card, and original Trust. There will be a 4.25% document fee based off of the purchase price of the vehicle, a title fee, and registration fees. Click below for fees.

Used Vehicle/Delaware Title

Used Vehicle/Delaware Title: Original title, bill of sale (only if purchased from a dealership or auction), Delaware driver license or identification card, and original Trust. Inspection is only required if the tags are expired and you want a valid registration. There will be a 4.25% document fee based off of the purchase price of the vehicle (or potentially NADA book value if a private sale), a title fee, and registration fees. Click below for fees.

Used Vehicle/Out-of-State Title

Used Vehicle/Out of State Title: Original title, bill of sale (only if purchased from a dealership or auction), Delaware driver license or identification card, inspection, and original Trust. There will be a 4.25% document fee based off of the purchase price of the vehicle (or potentially NADA book value if a private sale), a title fee, and registration fees. Click below for fees.
